Mrs. Jorgensen's Fulbright Memorial Fund Study Tour of Japan   |     home

October 3

We arrived a tired but excited group - 200 educators from the United States, the honored guests of the government of Japan.  First impressions conveyed an airport with modern facilities, employees who carried out their duties with utmost efficiency, and a schedule that ran with like clockwork.  Everything happened as closely to the predicted time as possible!  This was unlike the more relaxed attitude towards time that has become acceptable in the United States.

I found myself both finding comfort in the familiar strains of English from my fellow Fulbright group, but enjoying the inundation of the Japanese language all around us.

Here are some of my earliest photos taken in Japan.
